Privacy policy
Last updated 31 October 2026
FreeToolr is built so you can use our tools without telling us who you are. This policy explains what data we handle, why, how long we keep it and the choices you have. It applies to freetoolr.com, our apps and our emails.
Who we are
FreeToolr ("we", "us") runs freetoolr.com and is responsible for the personal data described here. Contact us about privacy at support@freetoolr.com.
The short version
- You never need an account to use a tool.
- Files you use with PDF, image, video, audio and text tools are processed on your device and are not uploaded to us.
- We do not sell your personal data.
- Ads and analytics cookies are only used after you agree, where the law requires consent.

Data kept only on your device
Your favourites, recently used tools, saved results, role and country choice, cart and cookie choice are stored in your browser's local storage, in entries that start with ft:. We cannot see them. Clearing your browser data removes them. Details are in our cookie policy.
Advertising
FreeToolr is free because of advertising from Google AdSense. With your consent, Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites. Without consent you may still see ads, but they are not personalised. You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie choices" link at the bottom of every page, and you can turn off personalised ads in Google Ad Settings. Read how Google uses data from partner sites.
Some pages may show one clearly labelled partner link. If you buy through it, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We do not share your personal data with these partners.
Who we share data with
We use trusted providers to run the service. They process data for us under contract and only as we instruct:
- Cloudflare: hosting, security and content delivery.
- Google Firebase and Google Cloud: sign-in and account storage.
- Google AdSense: advertising, after consent where required.
- OpenAI: only for AI tools you choose to use; inputs are not used to train their models under our API terms.
- Lemon Squeezy and Paystack: shop payments. We never see your full card number.
We may disclose data if the law requires it or to protect people from harm. We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising except through the consent choices above.
International transfers
Our providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States and the European Union. Where required, transfers are covered by safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Security
All pages use HTTPS. Account data is protected by Google's security controls, and access is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password if you sign in with email.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK, Nigeria, California or other US states), you may have the right to:
- access a copy of your personal data;
- correct it, or have it deleted;
- export it in a common format;
- object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time;
- opt out of the sale or sharing of personal data and targeted advertising (we do not sell data; use "Cookie choices" to stop personalised ads);
- complain to your data protection authority, such as your EU supervisory authority, the UK ICO or the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Email support@freetoolr.com from the address on your account. We reply within 30 days and will never treat you differently for using your rights.
Children
FreeToolr is a general audience site. Accounts are not for children under 13, or under the minimum age in your country (16 in some EU countries). If you think a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our service or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change matters to how we use your data, we will show a notice on the site.
